Sims 3 Goodie Boxes aren't always available, and you never know quite what's inside them. They come in two categories, Home Decor and CAS (you know, building stuff).
All Sims 3 goodie boxes contain at least one item from the store. They will not contain any free store items, as that would be a fairly scummy thing to do. Some goodie boxes contain more than one item, some even contain entire sets!
You also need not fear that the item you receive in your goodie box will be something you already have. The Sims 3 elves have gone out of their way to make sure every goodie box item you receive is new to you.
